Two years ago, I paused to reflect. With 20 years of experience leading and managing design teams with brands like Reebok, JD sports and Pentland brands, I asked myself a question:
How can I challenge myself to design with deeper intention, particularly focusing on design for health and wellbeing?
That question led me to begin my MA, with a mission to create a refreshed collaborative approach to product design that can positively impact health and wellbeing.
Today, two years on, whilst studying part-time, I’m proud to have been able to continue to work on projects that align and to be able to adopt and translate those new learnings into practice. Working with some fantastic brands, a recent example, that I am able to share, is Zed Sleep, working with founder, Ben Dancer and his amazing team who all share this vision, designing not just for function, but for wellbeing.
This week, I am presenting my MA synthesis project in the Lowery Building The Manchester Metropolitan University so feel free to pop along to the show, 22nd-28th.
Looking ahead, my focus and ambition is to work with more brands and companies that intentionally design to support health and wellbeing.
Organisations on a mission to give people the opportunity to choose products that complement and encourage healthier lives.
This is just the beginning of a journey that continues to inspire me every day.
